Three first-inning runs helped Chain Links 14U to a 4-3 win over Columbia County Mudcats at Columbia, SC on Saturday.

Chain Links 14U would not relinquish the lead as Columbia County Mudcats was unable to weather a three-run first inning deficit.

Columbia County Mudcats scored on a groundout by Smith in the first inning, a groundout by McCoy in the second inning, and an RBI single by Poole in the third inning. Still, Columbia County Mudcats couldn’t draw even.

KOEL STRONG got the win for Chain Links 14U. He allowed three runs over seven innings. STRONG struck out four, walked three and gave up five hits.

Lonegran was charged with the loss. He lasted just 2 1/3 innings, walked four, struck out two, and allowed four runs.
